got a friend or know someone who rides and knows something about bikes...ask him to go with you...even if you pay him for his opinion...for me rather invest $100 to see if bike is worth the investment before finding out you should have kept looking...fwiw...when i bought my c90 off a good friend...I took it to my mechanic...local suzuki service dept who I've trusted since 2004, helped get me 87k troublefree miles on my 04 vol before advising me it was time to put her down and move on, rather then investing in a 2nd major repair...first at 50k...anyhow...took it to him, had him look it over and give me his opinion. Bike only had 15k so didn't really expect any problems and trusted my friend but in reality we all take care of our bikes differently...while some may be a bit more anal about maintenance...some will rather deal with problems as they arise. I, being the mechanical clueless loser, unfortunately spend the $$$ to have them do mechanical work other than oil changes which also gives them the opportunity to inspect the ride over to address any issues that may come up...in your case...sounds like a good deal if all is well. First thing I would do tho, is find a good local mechaic and have him go over it when you bring it home if you buy it on your own...ask around or perhps someone here can suggest someone in your area they have dealt with... Good luck.

may want to consider this too...
2008 c50t assuming the other ride will probably need tires too...$$$...maybe not but...this also has a dj drive...one of those improvement mods many have done to the c50 line making the ride alot more enjoyable at highway speeds...dressed nicely and owner known by one of our own here...woodswoman... who could tell you more about the owner too and how he tends to his bikes. just a thought.

Don't rush into a bad deal. $2800 for a dead horse is still $2800. Many shops will do an inspection for an hour's rate, well worth the investment.
