my 2001 intruder VL800 will not start i have changed plugs checked to make sure they are firing I have cleaned the carb I do not believe it is getting fuel now though it doesnt seem that way anyway I am new to cruisers I got this bike as a gift from my uncle it sat for 6 years before i got it and of course I replaced all fluids cleaned everything I new to do I am completely lost if someone could help I would be greatly appreciative thank you

Force the fuel through by taking the fuel line off the petcock and blowing the fuel in the line, through the pump and into the carb. Re-attach the line and fire it up.
The pump works off vacuum. The engine has to be running to create that.
