Yes I am finding that out lol !! But hey that's OK, when I ask for help I will take any and all opinions and then try and make the best decision. And kinda like any place that does ratings.....you got 100 people saying that the product is great, and one guy that hooked it up wrong and toasted it and says it is a piece of junk LOL.
I do tend to get ahead of myself, and sometimes think I know way to much too lol. I will just put the iridium's in this go around, and in the future just get the cheap coppers. I am going to change all the vacuum lines and fuel lines, maybe pop off the air intake to the carb and do a little cleaning. Got warm here today (relatively speaking) mid 50's and already changed out my headlight bulb, and got that clutch loading oil out of it and put on another new filter. I only drove one mile with that oil in there, so hopefully it didn't get a chance to contaminate the clutch plates. 40 years ago bikes were simple, oil was oil. no pollution stuff. So I am getting a quick lesson in the modern world of bikes. And yes I took the advice offered here to clean out that oil, got a gallon of the Rotella T 15w40. Didn't hurt to do that anyway as it turns out I got a small amount of burnt black oil flakes out of it both times, a lot less this time. Nothing major, but the internal maintenance on this bike was not top notch. Outside it is pretty pristine.
