I will only add that I am approaching 70K miles on my '03 and all my parts are still inside and original. No timing chain noise, no splines smoothing off, no oil useage.

My hand grips are about worn out though.

I'm still good on the grips; I swapped for Kuryakyn ISOs early on. Took a full day of grinding (so I could keep the bar weights) and testing and re-grinding, but I've loved 'em.
