I have just got a VL800, 2001. Its in pretty good condition. I have noticed on idle and when running, that the clutch is noisy, (sounds a little like a rattling primary chain sound) when the clutch is held in, the noise pretty much disappears, is this normal for a Volusia, or will clutch adjustment solve it do you think or it possibly needs more
Well, had a productive day, did the full clutch adjustment as described here, and a bit of deep cleaning in the unreachable places, and now, no clutch noise!! Also dod the exhaust Mod, I had already drilled the bock plates, but knocked out the two baffle plates and now it sounds like it looks!! again thanks for the help. Now to look at the Rear drive upgrade.......
Gene knows what he talks about here. He's a great person to listen to.
