Just noticed you adjusted valves yourself and then sold the C50.

I've noticed for the Earlier than 2005 Volusia some say it requires shims which might make a Volusia adjustment more expensive; and a non Suzuki dealer may only know about a harder to do shim job over C50 turn of a special wrench job.
No - there are no shims required on the 2001-2004 Volusia's.

The temperature requirements for doing the valve adjustments is 'below 95F/35C' so a sit time of about 4 hours should let you work on it. Drive it in and park it by 8 am and it could be out the door by 5 - easy.

Valve Adjustment : $80 at one shop, $100 at the other.

was the $280 for the actual job or for the estimate to tell you how much it would cost to do the valves....about the only thing one can pay less than $300 at a BMW service dept would probably be for a new set of tire caps...

Whats the big hurry...slow down and enjoy the ride!
