Synthetics, which most are highly refined motor oil, without question good stuff, but no way do all synthetics last longer then regular oil.
If you use synthetic it is no reason to not change the oil when your are supposed to at 4000 miles.
Some synthetics like Rotella 5/40 will get chewed up in you engine gearcase faster then their regular 15/40.
I do agree that the vtwin Mobile and Amsoil synthetics look like good stuff and I would change at 4000 miles.

Agree. No matter how good the synthetic is, the wet clutch chews it up. 4000 miles is more than enough
