I have a 2005 Suzuki Boulevard C50, which I bought last summer, just after getting my M2. A few weeks back, on a particular nice Friday, I managed to drop it for the second time, trying to make an emergency stop for fire fighters on the way to a emergency. After deciding to sell it and get some thing a little more versatile and safer / abs, I went out and got a BMW 2014 F800GS and parked the C50. Two weeks later and I am appreciating, what the C50 has to offer, and how I needed to slow down. Like women, motorcycles come in all shapes and sizes, and I have hard time saying no to any of them. So I am now considering making a summer project out of fixing up the C50.
Items I need to deal with:
1) An oil leak on the left hand side, that showed after dropping it most recently.
2) Damage to the tank
3) Paint
Is the leak coming from the area the arrow is pointing?
I had damage to almost the same spot and was worried it might leak. JB weld filled it and after smoothing you don't notice the repair unless you stand on your head. 4 years later and no problems.
Welcome from the Boston area. Glad you survived laying it down and happy you are keeping it.
Bikes are pretty easy to DIY paint. Plenty of good bodywork books on Amazon and their size makes mistakes easy to correct and start over. It's a great way to learn and take some real ownership of your equipment. It's fun and the sense of pride is wonderful.
That's the thing, I am not clear on were the leak is coming from, but the arrow is were the oil is dripping from.
