Default Another C-50 owner from Tennessee.

Just bought an 06 C-50 with 7000 miles My first bike since 1972 and I am 62 years old. Kinda worried about the crazy drivers in my area. We just had a bike rider killed 2 weeks ago. I haven't started riding yet but looking forward to it. Great seeing all the mods made on the bikes. I like to do my own work. A great site.

Welcome from Brampton, Ontario. You will find this forum to be resourceful and sometimes addictive!! Hope you are enjoying some beautiful riding weather. My bike is in hibernation mode - can't wait for spring!

Wear protective Equipment; I Dress for the stop not the ride.

Push the handle bar in the direction you want to go.

Use your front and rear brakes together.

Remember to look thru turns look were you want to go.

I too am an older guy, and I like to do a little weight work to get in condition for riding.

Enjoy the ride motorcycles are fun.

Welcome I bought my 06 C50 last year when I was 62. Had not owned a bike in 25 years. I am also from Tennessee. I recommend taking the motorcycle safety course.

I'll second this suggestion. Even though you have prior experience, it's been so long that you may as well have never ridden. The $250 I spent on the MSF Training Course was worth every penny. You can find a training class here: Motorcycle Safety Foundation

I won't speak for TN, but in GA, when you complete the course you get a pass on the riding test for your license. That means all you have to do is pay your fee and take the written test to get your class M.

Whatever you do, ride safe and keep it shiny side up!

In TN you actually get credit for both. All I had to do is pay the fee to upgrade my license and that was it. : )

Welcome from easT Tennessee. Like you, I spent a long time not riding. I picked up a c50 and have loved very minute riding. Take your time getting back in the groove and enjoy.
