The Blue Ridge Bike Fest 2013

Has anyone attended this event? Is it a large event?

Does anyone plan to go to it this year? Maybe we can get a VR meet-n-greet going.

Just curious and I have a case of cabin fever. Only 350 miles from me, so this is a possibility.

UPDATE

We are staying here. I booked my room today (Jan 24).

I am checking in on Thursday the 11th and checking out the 14th.
Friday AM will be a short ride followed by going to the civic center in the PM, then dinner and an evening of partying
Saturday, Mike is going to take us on a longer ride with lunch etc., then dinner and more jocularity.
Sunday heading home.

Days Inn - Roanoke Airport - Exit 146 on I-81 ... Mgr is "Jatin" {Jay-teen}
8118 Plantation Road
540 366-0341

Mention Volusia Riders to get the guaranteed rate of $58 plus tax
Credit card will hold a room, but no charges until you check in
WIFI, free breakfast .... bar and restaurant on the property. 3 gas stations nearby.
Cancel any time up to 4 PM on day of arrival with no penalty.

The manager will provide us with a room to party in if we need one. Nice guy.

Looks like there is some interest in this over on Face Book. A VR member from Roanoke is going to put together some rides for those who show up.

Tentative plans look like this:
Arrive Thursday
AM ride on Friday, followed by lunch , then to the convention center for the show.
Saturday ride with lunch
Sunday ... ride home.

If anyone is interested in more details, ie lodging etc, just post here I will update as more info becomes available.

Good news, Mark. I heard from Ed ... it is on his radar ... I sent him a PM on FB ... I hope he can make it ... he lives in the Allentown area - 2 hours to my area - will work on this detail w/ him .... John is looking at this also ... depends on his work schedule, so he won't know for sure until the very last minute. ... now if the weather gods are nice to us - very unpredictable time of the year.

I'm usually off fridays by then . Will check my on-call sched. might be a little nippy in the mtns for camping .
