I guess you won't be able to use the bike as PT after surgery because you plant with the left leg when you come to a stop. Nothing for the right leg to do.

avoided going to doctor when first started feeling pain in knee (may) thinking with time it would go away...uncomfortable riding in car or truck but surprisingly fine on the bike...so as time went on and pain continued knew there must be something damaged in knee...but not to interfere with riding held off seeking medical attention...guy thing...finally went to doctor who sent me to specialist ...mri...meniscus tear...who not one to quickly do surgery suggested I try the pt first ...50-50 chance...of course the cloud of doom hovered over my head and decided my fate for me and after 8 weeks of therapy with little improvement doc suggested we go the next route...orthroscopic surgery...never had anything like that...from what I hear...simple procedure and everyone heals differently but will be anxious to see how long before i can feel comfortable getting back on bike...one of the reasons I didn't want to address this matter during the riding season...if nothing else while recouping will tend to the vol stove and stir the pots...
