You will be receiving by email a trip guide for our specific trip. There are however some wonderful resources available. If you would like to receive an overview that I feel is one of the best, PM me with your email address and I will forward it to you. It is called "Aftermath of the Ice0Age Floods: A bird's eye View" by Bruce Bjornstad, Pacific Northwest national Laboratory. If anyone is looking for more technical literature, I can forward those as well.
Do I look technical to you? I'm just glad to hang out for a few days with you and the other Westcaleros

Lake Missoula held about 550 cubic miles of water. When the Ice Dam broke near Clark Ford, ID., 2530 Billion tons of water headed across the Rathdrum Prairie for Eastern Washington. This 5060 Trillion pounds of water does not include all the Ice bergs, boulders, soil, and trees it carried as well.

It vibrated the earth in its orbit. Come ride with us on some of Western Montana's, Northern Idaho's and Eastern Washington's most scenic and wonderous 2 lane roads.

I hear there is a Bison reserve near #7 on your map. It's on hard packed gravel. Are we going there?

Unfortunately, it is not for the technically challenged!

We will have time to do that as we have only a short hike and short day miles. But this is mostly a riding through geological calamity ride and not a dodging the bison ride otherwise we would have routed through the Lamar valley.

Yes we can, In fact I was going to call you and let you know that you are in charge of that part of the ride. The National Bison Range will be a little to the East of our current route, but we will only be about 10 miles West of Moiese. 93 is a nicer ride up to the Camus Prairie area, but I-90 takes us past and through 4 of the main draining sites of Lake Missoula. The way this is set up, people will be able to choose different routes which will be available when you get your ride stuff. There are shorter ride options, the main 250 mile route option, and the I don't give a **** about the flood, I just want to ride as many of these great roads as I can option (abut 340 mile a day option). As long as we make it to the Motel by dinner, we can hear about the different rides.

I created this ride because of my 17 year fascination with the Great Missoula Flood and my 7 years of VR rallies and my 5 years of enjoyment when riding with Wescaleros.

This extended tour goes right through my old stompin' grounds!

I worked at Wallula for nearly 22 years and lived in Walla Walla county for ~25.

I've put it on my calendar and I'll reply here as 'tentative and hopeful' with the caveat that there is still 6+ months to get through!

But yeah, I'd love to make this ride with y'all!

Unfortunately the actual Bison Range scenic roads are gravel and motorcycles are not allowed. However it is paved to the visitor's center, which is pretty interesting, and bikes are allowed to that point. Might make a nice rest stop if our route takes us to that area.

Great read, I'm going to hold these dates for next June, and look forward to it. Please add me to the list for this ride. I've only done 1 short segment of the overall route to date, so looking forward to it.
