As I mentioned in my other post, I finally pulled the trigger on buying a C50. Now I have to get it transported from Naples, FL to Dallas, TX. I have zero experience with this,so does anyone have any recommendations on a dependable, reputable, yet affordable transport company that I can look into for shipping my new bike to me? Thanks!

I like keyboard motorcycle shipping, but there are many others.

I've done two long distance cross-country purchase moves, the first was moved by keyboard motorcycle shipping and they did a good job but there were some issues. My second move was done with Patriot Express and the move went flawlessly and in my opinion Patriot Express is a much better motorcycle shipper if you care about your bike, here's the website for Patriot Express and no I wasn't compensated in any way for this recommendation. Patriot Express Logistics

Agreed - I used uship when I had a Sportster shipped from NC to Ohio - Just keep in mind these are people that are bidding to ship for you, so ask a lot of questions as to the type of shipping/hauling they are doing such as open trailer, closed, etc.

Insurance

Don't forget about insurance. I was waiting for our bikes to get shipped back from a cross country trip (2007 R1200RT & 2008 C50), when I received a call this morning from the shipping broker. It seems the truck hauling our bikes was involved in an accident that resulted in the trailer rolling over, damaging both bikes. Fortunately, the BMW has mostly just cosmetic damage, but my Suzuki took the worse of it. Right now working with the shipping broker, insurer and motorcycle repair shops to try and get the bikes taken care of. One hell of a mess.....

From what I've read, this is a rare occurrence, but seems to be my luck as of late.....

Well that SUCKS, when this gets resolved please let us know more details about the shipping company and the claims process. Were you satisfied and offered a fair deal? I hope so, fingers crossed.

Wow... Something tells me those bar ends shouldn't be that close to each other. Good luck.

Thanks for all the great info, everyone. Between suggestions here and individual research, I ended up going with Patriot Express. Seems they sub the work out to a company called Yukon Express but my contract with Patriot Express still provides insurance, etc. Now I just have to wait for my new toy to come to me!
