Default Right side compartment

ok so since I don't really have any luck finding specific topics on this site I'm gonna ask, hopefully it's not a topic that has a thousand threads that I haven't seen...

Does anyone know what the right side compartment underneath the seat is for? Beneath the plastic cover opposite side from the tool box. It has something that seems like a round bracket that I'm guessing could be used to clamp something like a round container to. Not near my bike so I can't see if it's a pain in the a** to remove (if a screw is behind the exhaust...). But is there a specific purpose for that space?

It's for the charcoal canister for the emissions control system. You don't have to worry about that but California folks do.

The battery housing sits down there.

The battery is directly under seat, he is asking about right hand compartment. I put my horns, high and low blasters, in the compartment. Used the bracket for the CA bikes to hold them in there. Tight fit but works.

If you don't live in Cali, then it's designed for you to install a compressor for a set of horns!

I guess I'm not very observant these days. I have my toolbox out right now and just looked through with a flashlight.

Just out of curiosity does that area normally stay dry?

Sounds like a good idea to me and I do live in Cali... I'll have to take a look at that mod.
