I would buy it, it's a good price, and I'm sure everything is fine!

Buy it. In Septermber I rode my 2007 C50 to Florida on a 1800 mile bike trip. It had 56,000 miles on it (now has almost 59,000 miles). No problems. All I did for the prep was change oil and ensure tires had proper pressure. I ran the OEM spark plugs unti I got back from the Florida trip, 58,000 miles. By the way, I wouldnt sell mine for anything less than $2500, ever.

Sounds like a fair deal! I would change all the fluids, do the valves and check all connections, bolts, etc. Sounds like the tires will need to be replaced very soon so you're looking at $250-350 there depending on what you buy and if you take the wheels off to get the tires mounted. Check the tread, you may be able to negotiate an even lower price...

One thing I alway ask when buying any used engine. I want the engine cold (unused for 8 hours) when I first hear it run. A engine that knocks will sound worse when it's cold. Any warm engine will sound better than a cold engine unless it's been oil starved.
Good Luck!

I've actually had to put the purchase on hold for 3 weeks. The seller had to leave town for schooling. That's not a bad thing. It will allow me to educate myself a little better before I have to evaluate it.
All reccomenedations are appreciated, and the ones that have been given have helped reinforce some of my already aquired evaluation skills. However, being new to motorcycling, I could use all the sound advice I can get. I guess my chief concern is the valve adjustment, or lack of as the case may be, issue. Will there be any immediate tell tale signs of any damage done because of the lack of periodic adjustments? I fully intend to initiate all maintence procedures before riding if I decide to purchase it. Thanks again for all the helpful comments. I appreciate all I can get.
