Well I've been riding the Victory for about a month and a half and I thought I would stop by and give an update.
In simple terms. I LOVE THIS BIKE! I'm fortunate in that I get to ride year round here and I've already put close to 1,000 miles on the bike. The Victory is extremely comfortable, handles superbly and has just the right amount of power for its size and weight. I'm really enjoying having the six speed as well and the true cruise control is a great feature for my long commutes. I'm very satisfied with my purchase and have no regrets. I do miss the Boulevard from time to time and wish I could have kept it as a second bike, but with that being said I have no complaints riding my Vic everyday in its absence. If anyone else is considering a Victory model I highly recommend giving one a test ride. Cheers! Greg

Absolutely agree with everything you said!! In spite of some things that kept me from riding as much as I wanted, I still put over 8000 on mine in less than 9 months.
I took it on a couple of weekend trips, with 300+ mile days and had no problems with comfort. The stock seat is better than most, the cruise is a sweet feature to have, and out on the highway cruising at 60-65, I can routinely get 42Mpg. Do you still reach in the wrong spot for the key??? It took me quite a while to get used to the new location on the Vic...

I also did a demo ride of the Vic at the International Motorcycle Show a few weeks ago in Long Beach, CA. Great ride but I wonder how it would compare to the more affordable Kawi Nomad 1700?? Unfortunately Kawi was not doing demos at the show.

However, the Cross Country has the Vaquero beaten hands down for balance and handling, IMO. Both ride at highway speed like they are on rails, but at lower speeds you can flick around a Cross Country like a C50. Not so on the Vaquero. Mind you, I'm not knocking the Vaquero -- my husband loves his; I've ridden it and I admire it very much -- but for a smaller, less strong person like me, having that light handling matters. .

So glad to hear you say you have no regrets about your purchase. I quite understand your feeling about the Boulevard. BearBait and I both still miss ours, and we'd each have one as a second bike if we could. Wishing you continued happy miles! --Chris .
