I put the S40 at the end of the driveway with a for sale sign on it while I was working of the Vol on Saturday. A neighbor 4 houses down that I have never met stoped to have a look. I knew he had a bike but he always goes out the other way so I never saw it. Turns out to be an '04 Marauder. We talked a while and he invited me on a poker run to benifit a local cancer patiant. It's a new group of guys and gals made up of all the local service clubs. Moose, VFW, American Legion etc. called "The Patriot Riders of America" Chapter One Punta Gorda Fl. I saw a number of Suzuki's (Vols, C's, and Maruders) and talked to a few of them. My favorite was a C50 Leman trike. The 79 year old owner walked up and said "where's the beer?" Gotta love it. Like the dummy I am I didn't ask if any of them were on this forum. If was my first large group ride and first poker run. Short trip. 5 stops only 42 miles. First stop was a breakfast stop. Took the bike home and pickup the wife after the ride for a spagetti dinner and auction. Nice ride dinner new friends and a few beers afterwards.

There are a lot of nice folks on those rides!! I think the charity events bring out the best in people... Every time I go on one, I make at least one new acquaintance, and see at least one pretty cool bike I may not have seen around locally before. They are kind of addictive if you're human and have a social bone in your body... So I'm sure it won't be your last...

I'm sure it won't be my last. Turns out they are filliated with the American Leigon and hold thier mettings there. Just so happins I was recently gathering paper work to join the "Sons" of the Leigon. (cheap beer!)
I'm a 61 year old youngin'. My wife works with a Nationwide group called "Honor Flight". They take WWII Vets to see the war memorals in Washington DC free of charge. The "Leigon Riders" escort the busses to the airport for the Flights. The "Patriot Riders" join in on that. Seems everybodys connected.

sounds like a good group...I'm sure you will be taking more rides w/this group and get to meet more folks along the way...one of the best parts of this mc riding experience...the new friendships you make along the way...ride safe.
