Default New Kruz Drive

Well, I got the new drive installed. I bought one from Big Bird, and made arrangements to go over to the San Antonio area from Houston and have him install it. I went over on Saturday morning (about 225 miles), BB & his riding buddy started working immediately. I got to watch and help(as much as I could with my limited skills). Like many others have mentioned, when we took out the drive shaft, it was bone dry, no evidence of every having been greased.

It took a little over 3.5 hrs, but everything went in and back together smoothly. I took it from there, up through Fredricksburg and over to Austin to spend the night with my son, then back to Houston this morning.

So, How Do I Like It?" I Love it. But I have a little different perspective than most that I have seen.

Most of what I see about the drive change talk about running at 80 or 90 and having lots of throttle to bump it to 100+ with no trouble.

I don't ride that way. My goal was to be able to ride at 70-75 without the RPM being so high I though the bolts would vibrate out. It does that wonderfully. I was able to ride all the way back anywhere from 65 to 75 at a comfortable RPM/vibration level. I got slightly better mileage.

All in all, it was a good choice to make the change, and the experience was easy. I'd recommend it to anyone who plans on doing much highway riding

Jay,

It was good to meet you and I am glad that you are happy with the drive. Steve is out riding and I am sure he will be on to thank you shortly as well.
You did take a good route up to Austin. Glad she handled well for you.

BB, good to see a couple "good ole Texas boys" continuing the tradition.

No, we did a few other things as well, like move his helmet lock and we did a U-joint mod with a Stock C90 driveshaft Mod as well, so removing the swingarm not the fake one takes a little longer...
