Well, I got the new drive installed. I bought one from Big Bird, and made arrangements to go over to the San Antonio area from Houston and have him install it. I went over on Saturday morning (about 225 miles), BB & his riding buddy started working immediately. I got to watch and help(as much as I could with my limited skills). Like many others have mentioned, when we took out the drive shaft, it was bone dry, no evidence of every having been greased.
It took a little over 3.5 hrs, but everything went in and back together smoothly. I took it from there, up through Fredricksburg and over to Austin to spend the night with my son, then back to Houston this morning. So, How Do I Like It?" I Love it. But I have a little different perspective than most that I have seen. Most of what I see about the drive change talk about running at 80 or 90 and having lots of throttle to bump it to 100+ with no trouble. I don't ride that way. My goal was to be able to ride at 70-75 without the RPM being so high I though the bolts would vibrate out. It does that wonderfully. I was able to ride all the way back anywhere from 65 to 75 at a comfortable RPM/vibration level. I got slightly better mileage. All in all, it was a good choice to make the change, and the experience was easy. I'd recommend it to anyone who plans on doing much highway riding

BB, good to see a couple "good ole Texas boys" continuing the tradition.

No, we did a few other things as well, like move his helmet lock and we did a U-joint mod with a Stock C90 driveshaft Mod as well, so removing the swingarm not the fake one takes a little longer...
