I'm a computer geek, Android developer, and motorcycle enthusiast; sometimes I like to figure out ways to combine all of my interest into one project. Right now I'm feeling the urge to write a new app and would like to develop something relating to motorcycles, but I've got a bit of writer's block and can't seem to come up with any ideas worth putting the effort into. The problem is that even though I love technology, I tend to turn it off when I'm on my bike and can't seem to combine the two in my head because of this. So I'm here to ask you guys, are there any apps you would like to have or ways you would like to use your phone in conjunction with your bike? Here's your chance to get your app written for you. Let me know, and if your idea inspires me, I'll write it for you and everyone else to enjoy.

You would have to develop for the 4 major platforms not just Android as not everyone uses Android phones. You would need an app for iPhone, Windows Phone, Android Phone, and if Blackberry makes a comeback Blackberry phone. You would also need to make use of a database back end and write your own middle ware if you were going to store a lot of info. If you're developing for Android then I'm guessing that you're a Java developer which doesn't get you on the other platforms.

Blackberry? Really?!
Seriously though, I do the development as a hobby, no way I'm writing for iOs unless I get a hit on Android. It would cost me about $2k to get set up for that. I've dabbled in Windows Phone, but I don't own one, so it got boring real fast. As for language, I started in C++ in college and have done a lot in .Net, so I'm cool in a variety of languages, but yes, thanks to Android programming being the only development I've done in a while, Java is definitely my strongest language. Hurk, if they don't fix it soon, that may be the app I end up writing. I'm with you man, the mobile web browser blows for reading the forums, and the only time I use a desktop browser any more is at work!

Android is definitely my first choice. I'm impressed you are offering your services here - thank you -- I'm gonna ponder this app wish - and will get back to you -- what a nice thot!

Sorry, like I said, if I hit on an app that I think I can make some money on, I'll move to iOs, but while it's a hobby, I'll stick to Android, Google's less of a pain in the arse to deal with.

My wife has a Blackberry for her personal use and an Iphone from work. She must prefers her Blackberry. It is faster, takes better pictures and tethers to her laptop for internet access. She hates using the Iphone as a hotspot (very erratic); even both have the same carrier (AT&T).

my son wants to develop an app for the android (nothing to do with motorbikes) - he uses his android at work. He's looking for someone with whom to divulge his "secret" and market this. Too bad yer all the way down south there!
