Top Gear 5th on the Suzuki C50 is considered by Suzuki to be an overdrive gear because you can actually accelerate quicker and or go faster in 4th gear.
My riding buddy now has a newer C50 with the gear indicator and he too tries to shift to 6th gear. I am willing to bet the guys with the mod C90 drive also try to shift to 6th gear. It's a motorcycle thing caused by the foot shifter always staying in the same position no matter what the gear.

No, I'm not finding that I'm looking to shift to 6th. With the modified drive, the rpm's let you know when to shift. With about a thousand revolutions less than stock at highway speed, the motor lets me know its in the proper gear.

I knew when my engine took that gasp of fresh air it was in the right gear...with the KruZ, I never had to look for 6th gear...

With the overdrive rear ends do most normally shift down one or two gears in order to accelerate for uphill mountain passing. Or are the overdrives magical able to defy the laws of physics by not requiring the mechanical advantage of lower gears for increased torque at the rear wheel for some passing situations.
