I didn't know which category to put this in, but here's a few pics of my work on boots, I have several pr ....I made all the bootstraps from old wide leather belts & toeguards from sheet metal, I get the chains from hardware stores & spend many hours when I'm in the no-riding weather as rain or sleet is on us here in the south...........I'm starting to do a few of thes for some friends & customers......I've always been a fan of the western boots , LOVE 'em !
these are ankle boots, with a lot of new ideas on leather bootstraps, my summer riding boots ![]() rear view of them: ![]() side view: ![]() These are old & grungy, but broke in & comfy....so I fixed 'em up with all this stuff too , the sheet metal toe guards & iron cross logos are VERY time consuming ! ![]() rear view of the grungy ones :

![]() Here's my newest ones....I bought these on line, then added the thicker slip resistant soles, made the sheet metal parts & then the bootstraps with iron cross logos I formed as well......LOVE these a lot ! ![]() another view: ![]() rear view:

DOB,
You've got quite a collection of boots there. Nice handiwork with the metal and chains. What is the leather on the last pair of brown western boots? Ostrich?
