Default Renting a metric cruiser in Florida?

Anyone know a place to RENT a metric cruiser in the Clearwater / Tampa / St.Pete area? I am planning to visit the sunshine state for two weeks in mid Feb and would love to get some wheels while I'm there. Places I've found online seem to only have Harleys for over $100/day - holy yikes. I would be extremely happy with a C50, M50 etc for hopefully lots less money....anybody know a place?
Thanks.

Motorcycle Rental - Motorcycle Tours - Harley Davidson Rental | EagleRider
The nearest location to rent from eaglerider is in Orlando, per their website.
They have a couple of bikes for $85-90 per day.

Most motorcycle rentals are around $100 per day +- $15.

In Tampa
http://www.cigarcityrentals.com/, but they are about $150 per day.

Closest thing I can find iS Eaglerider in Orlando. They have a veriaty of brands but I'm guessing the price is about the same. Can you spell INSURANCE AND LAWYERS?

Your options are limited. I rented in Ft Lauderdale last year and could only find HD through the Eagle Rider franchise. The Orlando store shows a Honda Shadow 750 as the only metric available. Miami shows some Triumphs.

I appreciate the lookups guys - I must be old or something, this seems bizarrely overpriced to me. I can rent a $50k Cadillac or Lincoln for under $70/day, a Crown Victoria for $50/day...wtf is up with that?

Your point being it's the liability of having idiots kill themselves on rented motorcycles that makes the prices exorbitantly high?

Well, I would explain it as more of a supply and demand pricing. I've been quoted $75 per day in AZ. and twice that in FL. There are tons of more riders looking for rentals in FL and also CA. And also the length of the rent. You can get a weekly rate that is cheaper per day over the 7 days.

That's encouraging...I would like to be able to afford a full two week span. The other option I'm weighing is renting a trailer and hauling my own bike down there. If I fly I've got to rent a car while I'm there anyway...as my girlfriend is likely to accompany it may be practical for us to drive, saving car rental, bike rental and plane tickets. Hmmmmm <rubs chin pensively>

Sounds like a plan. My experience was difficult at times. I had to renew my M classification after taking the safety course the week prior. I had a paper license with my photo ID? Dealership did not want to accept it. We were on our anniversary and I implored the guy to help me. He called FL DMV to get a quick warrant check on my TX license. He then required me to place a $3k deposit on my VISA. Would not take a debit card, so he made my wife put her card on file and added her as a second driver, extra fee, although she has never ridden a MC.

The bike was a show room new 2010 Ultra Classic with 5 miles on it. We came back after 4 days and the dealer wanted to charge me $150 to detail it. Said I parked it under a sapp tree and marred the paint? I said we had arrived 1 hour before the deadline and I was going to ride it to the car wash and spray it clean. He said no and then went out to look at the bike again. He rubbed a damp cloth on the truck lid and it shined up nice. He then charged me $75 for a spot on the right side pipe from wife's boot.

Bottom line... The dealer does not make much money on the rental through Eagle. He makes money on the extra fees they can tack on for mileage, cleaning, insurance, etc. Beware. Do your homework and research all you can. There are good dealers out there and if you know the rules going in, it's a better transaction.
