Was at Toys-R-Us yesterday on my bike. A little girl, about 10, was almost twisting away from her Dad in order to see my bike. So I stopped & let them look. Said I was always encouraging girls to ride when they grow up.
Dad told me he wanted a bike & was envious when his neighbor fired up his Suzuki. Asked what kind & he answered...a Boulevard. Told him that's what mine is (debadged). He said he knew he liked mine for some reason So perhaps in 8-10 years, that little girl will have grown up & be riding |

Neat story. Some kids are fascinated by them. I have 5 grandchildren, all girls, and the middle one who will turn 2 on Christmas day often asks grampa about his new cycle bike. The first time she saw the bike her little eyes just lit up. So I sat on the bike and asked her if she wanted to sit on it with grampa and much to my surprise she said yes. It's one thing for her to see one go by on the street but quite another when you are little and see one close up. I thought for sure she'd shy away from it but no way. So I told her it goes vroom vroom and asked her if she wanted me to make it go vroom and again she yes. So I started it, cracked the throttle a bit, and the noise and vibration didn't even phase her. She sat there hanging on to the gas tank with a big grin on her little face so I think I've got a little biker girl in the making. Good times for grampa.

surprised to see there aren't more females riding these days...times being what they are...this and recent past generations of girls being raised and encouraged to try or do anything that catches their fancy...not even going to mention the fashions...yep...good market for a business venture ... babes and bikes.

HI-Vis
I think we both enjoyed it. Me for 2 reasons......1, my Mom told me I wasn't allowed on a motorcycle & 2, because it drives the Moms nuts ! Their "babies" being a "biker chick", nonono. (altho there was no Mom present) |

You'd think Dads would be worried
1. Guys like bikes 2. Guys like girls 3. Guys really like girls with bikes! Still owe my granddaughter a ride (she was supposed to get one over a month ago for her birthday), so far her mother has managed to always find an excuse, despite giving the o.k. firkin meanie!!! |
