You're going to do a 403 mile 6 hour trip. If you're not use to that kind of ride I would suggest a windshield and some highway pegs. As your bike sits now you have no way to stretch out at all. Also, stop at every rest stop and get off the bike for a few minutes even if you don't feel like it. Make sure that you have rain gear and warm clothing. Dress in layers and take the stuff off and put it in your saddlebags when you get hot.

thats what i did when i rode home. it was about a 200mi trip home from the college and usually took +/- 3 hours, dependin on how much i stopped. i didnt think about the rain gear! thank you! i do always have a large plastic zipper bag to put my wallet and phone in, if i get caught in the rain.

at least get some frogg toggs......for me, rain gear is pretty essential. Besides that....now this is just me.....but as it is apparently just 403 miles......is basically just a nice weekend day ride so I wouldn't worry about it, just enjoy it.....

yeah, im usin these bars. my dads buyin me some apes, and i gotta get the cables before i go. we're gonna put em on before i come back. these are more comfortable than stock for me. the stock bars made me "hunch" my back. anythin over 45 minutes and my back was killin me. these straighten my back out more, even though im leanin over. i rode back from home 3 hours (stopped twice) and my back didnt hurt at any point durin the trip..
i plan on leavin early the first saturday of spring break, use the whole day to ride. so if i need to stop, i will. im tryin to find directions that keep me off any interstates. state 2 lane highways and county highways are the ones i love ridin most
