Dennis never knows when the craving for Shoofly Pie is going to hit. He always starts with a full tank and fills up when he gets back - just in case he needs to make an emergency 2:00AM pie run.

leave it to new england weather to screw things up...woke up to a cold damp rainy just plain miserable morning...waited for the predicted warmer temps to arrive or at least for the wet weather to leave the area...it finally did but by the time it did it was time to leave for work...not happy to say the least...looks like its down to 1 day...

realisticly speaking its down to MFile2000 and nffalon55...0ver/under looks to be 45,755...edge would have to go to Mfile2000 to take it at the wire but anything is possible especially since its my last day to ride for the year...place your bets.

so tommorrow..last day...30% chance of rain in the morning...then clearing and hopefully reach the predicted 50 degree mark...regardless, just give me riding conditions...if all goes well...hope to be on the road before 11 am and return by 3 to prepare to leave for work by 3:30...thats the goal...4 hour escape...figure somewhere in there stop for gas and a coffee probably a farewell cup at The Bean.

Day 25 ...Wednesday...sad to say the end has arrived...was able to pretty much follow todays plan and was on the road by 11:15... after aimlessly cruising some favorite roads for an hour developed a craving for something sweet to enjoy with a coffee...so decided to head to a restauarant I often frequent during the warmer months that has probably one of the best dessert selections I've found yet...
![]() so headed east and soon found myself heading into ![]() at which point began to think that being on the oceanfront this time of year there is that possibility the place may be closed... but being such a great day to ride ...didn't really matter...by 1:30...found myself approaching the establishment and needless to say... ![]() oh well...such is life... so turned around and started heading back home...along the way passed ![]() and figured maybe take the opportunity to get a jumpstart on some xmas shopping for the wife...on second thought...I'd have to hide it till xmas and my luck she would find and figure I hid it cause I must be giving it to someone else... and then all H*ll would break loose...and I'd end up finding a blanket with my pillow next to my bike in the garage...the cold cold garage... ![]() so decided I would just go home and reconsider ...maybe just get some scented candles instead...maybe just get her nothing...pain in the a**...I didn't say that...really..kinda came out wrong...better get back to the contest... so finally got home a few minutes shy of 3... the odometer read ![]() before I left and when I pulled it into the garage for the last time this year it read ![]() you hung tough MFile2000...45,500...but it looks like the man with the formula...nfallon55... 46,011..gets to take the victory lap. Disappointed Peprice ...47,320..didn't take it... or for that matter ...dj12midnit...48,003 never really was a contender.... Final numbers were 18 days ridden...of the 7 missed 5 were determined by weather...other two ... dad/daughter related ...1645 miles total...could have/should have been better but for this time of year in this part of the country...take those numbers anyday. Thank you weathergods for letting us here in the northeast still be able to turn it on and take it out. Thanx for playing all...it was fun...for me at least.

Hi Dennis-as for Capt Jack's-pretty much a tourist trap in the summer being the only place in town esp in the East Matunik area, but their little pastry shop is another story-tasty treats indeed-
We'' be doing the Penguin Plunge there in a few weeks ![]() ![]()

Enjoyed the game. Good luck with the surgery. Now we need a guess the date that Dennis starts riding again.

Good luck with the surgery Dennis - I'm sure you'll be back in the saddle in no time.
