You honestly expected this to go any other way?:bigla ugh:

Guess you have never moved a kid before.

I visit my son when he was in Maryland and I get "Dad, the garbage disposal doesn't work." The local girl calls me all the time to say "Dad, I broke the house again."
It is always a full day thing even if I think it should take 20 minutes. "Dad, the wind damaged the flashing" becomes "also, the fence lost two boards, the toilet wont stop running, can you replace the light fixture in the kitchen and will you concider replacing all the floors downstairs?"

thanx guys.. knew I could count on you...first for reminding me when the kids finally do move out... again...it doesn't mean you ever stop hearing from them... and as for the riding opportunity...saw enough mc's on the road to really make me cringe each time one passed...part of being a dad I guess...ain't answering the phone tomoroow and plan on being out of the house early...think its called...priorities of life.

day 23...monday...put on the blinders...turned off the phone...responded with a yes dear...anything you say dear... to anything and everything my wife was saying all morning...went about my morning agenda and by noon was on the road taking advantage of a perfect 50 + degree december afternoon... cruised locally for 90 minutes before heading back to have the lunch the wife was preparing when I left and promised I'd be home to enjoy with her...swallowed it down...rude I know but it is what it is good as it was... think she understood..at least hope she understood...and then headed back out for another 90 minutes before returning home to swap the bike for the truck and head to work...just a perfect day and left me salivating for tommorrows higher expected temps...rain should be gone by sunrise so keeping fingers crossed the so called wrench keeps itself in the toolbox and doesn't get thrown into the mix...

so bottom line...dial flashed

when I started it up and by the time I pulled it back into the garage for the day and turned it off the new number displayed

102 miles left me smiling all day with a the potential for 2 more bonus days still in the horizon...for today ...Life is Good...

I expected you to have a few more miles on than that yesterday. At least you are being given nice weather for your final couple of days of riding for this season.

You should have offered to meet your wife at the Parker House in Boston for lunch and Boston Cream pie. Then you could have gone past that 90 minutes and put a lot more miles on. It would have given you 94 miles each way.
