Thanks for looking into that, I couldn't find anything on external dimensions anywhere. I'm hoping I can fab some mounts without much trouble. I've done it for a small block chevy and 700R4 with loads of torque, so in my mind anyway, the mounts should be fairly simple. Here's to hope.

roidrage, I admire you for your attempt.
What year shovelhead are you looking to buy? Between 1970-1981 IS not a good choice. I owned a 1976 Electraglide. It fell apart. No joking.
AMF- I've heard, makes a nice bowling pin.

Good LUCK!
C&P:
In 1969, American Machine and Foundry (AMF) bought the company, streamlined production, and slashed the workforce. This tactic resulted in a labor strike and a lower quality of bikes. The bikes were expensive and inferior in performance, handling, and quality to Japanese motorcycles. Sales and quality declined, and the company almost went bankrupt.

You can modify the upright and the lower cross-member to cyborg the Fiddy frame...possibly run with a single swingarm configuration giving you some more room but it's a very inspiring undertaking if I say so myself...

I'm well aware of the shoddy American engineering of that time period, it spanned to automobiles as well. But that's part of the allure. Case in point, before I got into bikes I owned a 76 Stingray, and all of the reliability and performance problems that came with it. I ended up swapping or modifying the engine and tranny with more reliable, more powerful systems, which I bought for cheap in non-operational conditions and rebuilt in my garage. Part of hot rodding to me is taking American crap of that period and turning it into something special. And reliable.
