Any Victory owners here?

I recently sold my 2006 Boulevard C50T so now I'm in the market for a new bike. I really liked my Boulevard but I'm looking for a bigger bike.

I thought I wanted a Harley but I'm really intrigued by the Victory. I think Victory may be better engineered and more reliable than the Harley and they seem to be slightly less expensive. I know that since this is a Suzuki forum I can expect to get some unbiased opinions from members who have ridden both bikes.

I'm specifically interested in the Kingpin.

TIA,
Greg

Greg, I went from an '03 Volusia to an '06 Victory Vegas. While I loved the little Volusia, there's just no comparison. With the right setup, the Vegas is just as comfortable and easy to handle as the Vol. as for the power, it's like going from a VW to a Porche. You won't be sorry.

NWFungi went from a Vol to a Kingpin and he loves it. I'm sure he'll be along shortly.

Eurobastard went from a C50T to a Victory CCT, then heard the siren call of a BMW K1600GTL.

Personally, I lust after the Victory CCT. Probably looking to buy a 2013, but will hafta wait till 2015 to afford it!

I love my Victory XC

If your looking for a brand new Vic, they discontinued the Kingpin and replaced it with the Boardwalk. Almost pulled the trigger on one last month but a less than expected bonus keeps me waiting till next summer. I test rode one and fell in love with it, especially the white pearl with white walls.

I have a hook on a new 2012 Kingpin for 11K. I think this is a pretty good deal...

I'm going to test ride a couple different models tomorrow and compare. A few months back I road a friends 04 Vegas and liked it, but I wish it had the floor boards. The floor boards are a must for me after having them on the Boulevard. I'm just not sure about the way the fenders look on the Kingpin..... Then there is still my interest in a Harley Road King that I can't seem to get past.

I appreciate all of the responses. I miss riding but I don't want to make any drastic decisions. At the same time I don't want to be bike-less too much longer.

The one thing that keeps me from an RK is the difference in weight compared to my Boulevard. The new Boardwalk is less then 100 lbs heavier which is one of the most important items on my checklist. I load my bike in my truck bed for several vacations each year and heavy bikes are not an option. I love the nimbleness of the Boulevard and don't want to lose that aspect of riding. We do a lot of two up, so again any more weight than the Boulevard plus another rider is not an option either....

What I'd tell you is narrow it down to a couple choices, then demo ride the crap out of those choices.

I rode new Harley's in Sturgis and came away convince that HD did not fit me.

I rode Victory at demo days in my home town and I just came away unimpressed.

I don't say that to dump on any Vic owner, they are just not the bike for me.

I went out there thinking that I was gonna come home and drop 17k on a Kawasaki vaquaro.

I rode one twice out there and I just did not like it.

Before you drop big bucks, put your butt in the saddle of as many as you think you might like.

At the end of the day it's what YOU like.

I bought an 08 Street Glide. I love the damm thing.

My Street Glide is one of the heavier touring bikes out there, and it does not feel like it at all, all the weight is low and the bike is very very well balanced.

But all the "opinions" you read on the internet cannot hold a candle to time on the bike.

1965 Harley M50
2005 Suzuki C50
2006 Suzuki M50 turned bobber
2007 1600 Kawasaki Classic
2008 FLHX Street Glide 105th Anniversary #1387
2015 FLHCUL Ultra Classic Low
USAF 1973-1977 SoDak ANG 1977-2010
While it may be impossible to please everyone, pissing them off is certainly within my reach.
