^^ Couldn't have said it better myself.
It bugs me when people (like my friend who just bought a bike this year) think that it's too much of a hassle to ride. Like grow some balls and just do it! Riding is way more fun than sitting in a vehicle |

We all ride for our own reasons...some impulsively buy a bike and never ride it...some buy and ride all the time...no right..no wrong...personally I don't fear much in life...but the day I come to realize it may be time to stop riding...might be my #1 fear.

I guess it all depends on how much fun has priority. I didn't buy a bike for it to be my main mode of transportation and yeah it is much easier for me to hop in the car or truck. Just because someone thinks its way more fun to ride a bike than travel in a vehicle good for them. It doesn't mean everyone else is going to think so. With all that manliness about it shouldn't be too hard to understand.

Been in traffic jams in New York, New Jersey, Boston, Washington DC, Richmond, Miami, San Diego (1 traffic light backed up 4 miles on the island of Kauai), Los Angeles, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Montreal, Quebec City, Salt Lake and probably a few others. The absolute worst was in Southern California on 4 I believe, stuck in the canyons with no way out!

First real snow, perfect timing, rode in it down to the inspection station, watched it get worse as we went over the bike (new rotor sometime this year, it's getting thin. Tires, still plenty of meat. Brake pads 50%F 80%R left. yada yada yada. mechanic seemed overly surprised by the mileage difference from May til now ), bout an inch on the road by the time I was back on the road, still rolling on summer meats so just a tad squirelly for my liking but not too bad (usual winter routine plan stops and turns well in advance slow and steady acceleration and deceleration). Got bored went out ridin for the **** of it racked up another 50mi. before my lack of adequate winter and wet weather gear found me longing for home. Already plotting to go for a JFTHOI ride tomorrow...if not prolly break out the jack and mount the winter meats...well I guess that means I'll ride anyway, would be pretty stupid to do all that work and not enjoy the reward.

careful out there...snow leaves the roads wet...leads to ice when the nite temps arrive.
