That VTX is a nice bike!
Two of my buddies have them and another has the 1300 version. What I found with the 1300 was it cornered by itself ......... very easy to handle. I rode one of the 1800s on the highway only and like you said, very smooth and all kinds of JAM! Your mpg is the same as mine .......... I thought the VTX would do better than the Valkyrie. Who cares I guess ...... everything else about them makes up for it!!
