Default Heading into the Darkside...

With my wife's permission, I will be heading into the The Darkside on Monday...one of our local HD Dealerships...

After watching me so tediously swap, spend and modify so many things trying to get my C50 to my liking...my wife has decided to let me delve off into the World of Big Bikes to maybe find something that I may be happy with for a few years, even if i means making some payments along the way...I have always wanted a Harley but wasn't in the position to afford one...and not really saying that we are now but if the deal works out, then I may be the next Harley Owner on this site. I don't have too many options that need to be filled...1) larger engine displacement...2) Hardbags...3) Fairing...4) Comfort...and that unique Harley Sound is also a nice effect to round off the list. Don't get me wrong...if I do venture off into that world, I will never forget or leave the Group that allowed me the opportunity that this Group has...VR will always be my Home and You All My Friends...the one thing about being a Great Person is to NEVER forget where you started from...or the People/Friends you made/met along the way...

Wish me luck...

BB

Shopping for a new ride is always fun...but remember, it didn't happen if there aren't any pictures BB! And you're shopping at the right time to get a decent deal too.

Good luck!

Something to keep in mind.

Touring bike frames changed in 2009. They are alittle bit wider at the nose of the seat and that eats up alittle bit of inseam lenth.

I specifically went after an '08 for that reason. I got a Mustang seat that is alittle narrower and lowered the front of my seat by alittle of an inch and now my Street Glide is a perfect fit for me.

They are a heavy bike but they carry that weight low and my impression is that they are very well balanced.

One thing to think about in Texas, they do throw some engine heat, in South Dakota, that's not always a bad thing.

All said and done, I really do like mine. I like all the instrumentation on the fairing but I really like the looks of a Road King Classic too.

Good luck buddy.
