Default Vulcan 2000

What do you guys think about the Kawasaki Vulcan 2000? With the Insurance totaling my bike, I wanted to buy mine back...re-build it or part it out but their idea of buying it back was ridiculous. They are offering me $7300 outright or $4200 and my bike back. Freaking Ridiculous! So, I have been contemplating a bigger bike and I like the Vulcan 2000 and I have found a really nice '07 for lot under what I will be getting, so there will be some upgrade funds left...

Steve

Well first of all, where is the damaged C50 machine, and can You get to it and switch out the rear drive, back to the original?

If it's still good, there's some more mod money for You to play with.

Hope You're feeling a little better.
Sounds like some spinal surgery may be needed in the near future......bummer!

Hey Steve

On e of my buddies rides one and it's a powerfull machine to say the least...but he's been having trouble with an engine knock at start up
After having the top end rebuilt due to 100000kms(60000miles) the knock is stil there, the dealer says it's normal but if you think the50's are noisy you should have a listen to this bike...although it quiets down after awhile and he's put 20000k on it with this knock
They sound really sweet with a bigshot exhaust

Nice bike and very strong

cheers

Dan

I donno Steve- is there any wiggle room with your insurance- will they negociate?.
Obviously they are likley to sell your bike afterwards as I think there's not as much damage that needs repair than thought?. They are in the buisness to profit from YOUR misfortune so there's Rhyme to their reason!.
What WAS the damage anyways?.
Think about it, taking the aftermarket bits off will it allow you to profit from keeping it?.
Hope you are feeling better.. and that your lawyer has teeth!
Cheers Bud
Dave

FWIW, the Vulcan 1700 seems (to me) to be a better overall bike than the 2000.

Not sure what your looking for in a bike Steve, I think you'd be happier with a Nomad than a 2000.

Of course don't overlook the Vulcan 1600 Classic.

I can have it on the trailer and headed south within the hour.

The VN2000's are no longer made, so they are an obsolete platform. From the time I spend on Kawasaki forums, I seem to recall they have stator issues. If you are serious, I would suggest going to the Kawasaki Vulcan Riders Forum on Delphi Delphi Forums Login
and do some research.

I love them & would love to have one!

Sent from my Samsung Epic 4G, but not while riding!

I have an 07' 2000 Vulcan LT.
Lots of power but, also heavier. I drive that one on the weekends when the wife and I are out and the C50T when I am by myself.
The factory shock on the Vulcan is junk. I changed that out to a progressive.
I purchased the bike new in 2010. It was new old stock.
As far as having in problems none so far.
If you have any questions send me a message.
