Looking at shark setups,than saw Boss MC400.Any ideas on which way to go?Any other ideas?(From experience please)

I have a shark system. Opted for the 250 watt version, not realizing you still get the same 100 watts for the front speakers & that the additional 150 is for a subwoofer...which I don't intend to add. I like it & can even hear it while doing 80 on the highway.

The Shark is a decent system at an affordable price. If money were no object - the Hondaline stereo here can not be beat.

Hondaline Digital Audio System - Honda VTX 1300/1800 Models/ Spirit 750 C2/ Aero

I actually found one on Ebay and replaced the Shark that I put it on my wifes V-star.

Although it is plug and play for Hondas - you can adapt it for any motorcycle.

I got the 110w Shark system for my wife. Can't beat the price, but the speakers aren't much. She had 3-1/2" speakers, so I pulled them out and bought some 4" Pioneers at Best Buy, trimmed the extra metal off and they fit right in the housing. She's hard of hearing and loves them.

I have the 100W Shark on my bike with 2-1/2" speakers. It is good to about 70mph, more if the wind is calm.

If you have the cash get a Rockford Fosgate Punch amp with an infinity tuner.

I have a Shark 100w. Clear sound, can be heard very well. Mounted the amp in a saddle bag, mp3 player on the tank. Love it

Interesting...my only question about that is if it would improve volume. The amp only sends 50 watts to each of those front speakers, so if there's not more power being sent....?

Sound quality really isn't a major concern for me because my pipes aren't stock so I'm not hearing any of the subtleties in music coming out of my speakers.

Do your research. You will be disappointed with the Shark or Pyle 100 watt or 250 watt systems. What they are telling you is that you get 50 watts peak not rms. Peak is not what you are looking for. That is when the system hits the peak performance is not maintained on a continual basis. The rms rating is what you would get on a continual basis.

Through truial and error, I found that the Shark speakers could not handle the power of the 100W amp. Actually blew 2 sets at full volume. At just under full volume, the sound was pretty distorted. The pioneers are 100W each ( I think, maybe more) and they can handle to full power.
