So sorry to hear that. Best wishes and hope they can do something to get you feeling better.
My wife has her own bike and rides with me, but she has rarely been out the last year for health reasons. She suffers from daily chronic migraines so I see her suffer through not being able to do the things she likes -- breaks my heart every day. |

I have stenosis in the cervical spine, and in the lumbar spine, plus I was just notified that I've developed scoliosis from the lumbar up to mid-spine. A couple weeks ago, I received 2 trigger point shots in the back of the neck, and those really help to maintain one's range of motion in the neck. They only hurt a little bit for the 20 seconds while receiving the injection, so if at all possible, have the injections. Your spinal issues echo my own, and likely 4 dozen other VR members as well, so don't despair; just ride when You can, and enjoy polishing the machine when You cannot. Take Care!

I had that too back in 2010. I found out it's pretty routine now for most neurosurgeons to fix. At least it was in my case (C4, C5, & C6). It required about 2 days in the hospital, although they let me out in 36 hours because I was doing well. In my case it was quite advanced and I had all but lost the use of my left arm and hand. I couldn't have ridden a bike if my life depended on it. It was quite unnerving to say the least (not to mention painful).
I'm very optimistic you'll ride again though. Assuming you take care of it that is. They (all my physicians / there were 4) told me the same thing. There is no other option available over surgery to open that all up again. And I can report to you with complete confidence in my case it was the right decision. I don't hardly ever think about that anymore...and I ride. My left arm is about 90% to what it used to be, and probably won't ever get back 100%. But that's okay, it beats 0% use. LOL Best of luck in treatment...I'm very hopeful you'll ride again. Thoughts and prayers for ya'.

Update: The Dr.s said I won't need surgery but I will need a series of injections in my neck to help with the pain. My first injection is scheduled for this Fri. Feb. 10.

Maverickman, that sounds like great news. I hope the injections get you past the problems and back in the saddle!

My wife has a degenerated disc in her neck that causes her some pain on hard bumps. I am researching various pads cushions to add to the already plush seat on our Electra Glide. Those of you who have been to the doctor about back/neck problems, I am wondering what the doctors say about riding?
