Bought my new 2011 C50 "bare naked" in September, after wearing out my 2000 V-Star by riding it from Vancouver to Halifax and letting my son ride it back again. During the last few weeks, inspired by this website, I've added OEM windshield, sissy bar, Walmart lights, Cobra highway/crash bar, home made Lexan lowers ( they made a big difference to wind buffeting), and a Shark radio system. Improved the horn system by adding a Fiamm lo-tone horn, mounted under the right side cover as suggested by Volusia users. I wired it through a relay, which is controlled from the existing OEM horn's blue (to ground) wire - I left the OEM horn wired up so I now have two tones and they sound a lot louder together. Can anyone explain why the new horn bips momentarily when I turn the ignition on/off ??
Vancouver to Halifax would have been quite the trip. It's great that you were able to do it. Of course you realize after telling about all those mods you are now going to have to post some pictures.

Mutazu makes nice looking bags but I'm sure you'll learn as i have that their locks do not fair well in wet climates (the internals rot pretty quick) and they do not keep their contents dry. Every time it rains I have a pond in each bag...pretty pathetic considering my old leather bags kept things drier. I have a feeling I'll modify them over the winter with better locks, additional latches, and some sort of improved seals.

Added a personalized plate EVLSED.
Hard bags
Easy brackets
Chrome tail light trim
Tach
Purple led strips hidden under the tank

Paint showed up.... That'll get done in December.

Installed a set of Cobra highway bars from the swap meet, LOVE the look. Beefs up the front a bit to match the large bags in the rear. Highway pegs should be in on Monday. Airlite soft lowers and risers are next, whenever I get around to ordering them.

Repaired the rubber grommet in rear turn signal that ripped and left my turn signal hanging by it's wires. Mounted a new luggage rack and put on my "IBA" plate backer.

Finally got around to doing the Honest Abe Mod. Angle cut a 2 foot length of 1/2 inch id piece of black pipe. (od is about 7/8 inch). It went through both plates like butter. Drilled four 1/2 inch holes per exhaust. OMG just enough low rumble to give me an ear to ear grin. Itchin to ride her now.

Thanks to those who went before me and gave excellent detailed instructions on how to do this.

I put some highway pegs- yes, highway pegs- on my Concours. Not something I'll use all the time but they will give me some alternate foot positions for long trips.

I mounted them so when they are closed they come in just above the fairing protector.

Interesting, never seen that done to a Concourse before. The bar will give some protection to the faring in case of a tip over. Not a bad thing.

I've already "tested" them. The way they are designed nothing on the bike will hit the ground, just the bars. I have the rear bag guards too. When my bike fell over the only marks were on the guards. I doubt they'd help in a higher speed crash but for the low speed drops, they definitely were worth the investment.
