Glad no one was offended. Life's too short to be offended over opinions on tassels!

Do you mean fringe, or tassels? Fringe is super metal, and that equals tough.

Therein lies the problem...most of the haters apparently can not see the difference.

To me they're the same thing. If that were my bike those things wouldn't be hanging from the bars or the seat.

fringe

I got fringe on my levers and it was a nice use after the flogger broke the otherweekend! For some unknown reason I am ready to go after a long ride, with the fringe whipping in the wind against my bare forearms! My wife says I am like some lust crazed animal when I walk in the door!

Now I'm happy and I can say that I enjoyed this post and laughed several times while reading it.

I love tassles.

I love lamp.

Hey Dave, starting next week you can put me on global ignore. It's certainly no skin off my back. I barely even noticed you were here until you decided you had an issue with me for whatever reason. I'm just fine with you not ever seeing anything I post. I'll do the same in kind and our posts and thoughts will never meet.

And I wouldn't have a bike the color of yours, but you don't see me starting a thread about it. I don't know why people think it's okay to put down other people's bikes or what they put on them.

And I would have a bike the color of yours, just using that as an example. It doesn't feel good when people put down your choices.

"Tassels" is used to mock.

I think you missed the part where I said I started this thread just to be goofy. True that I do not care for them, but this was not intended to bash. The reason I used the word "things" in the post you quoted is because I was quoting someone who was asking about the difference between "tassels" and "fringe". What I should have done is give the definitions, as you can see below.

I wasn't using it in that manner. That's what I've always heard them called even by people who have them on their bikes. Fringe is edging. Like what you have on your jacket or what some folks have on their mudflaps, etc. Tassels are what you see hanging from handlebars.

Free dictionary definitions:

fringe (frnj)n.1. A decorative border or edging of hanging threads, cords, or strips, often attached to a separate band.
2. Something that resembles such a border or edging.

tas·sel (tsl)n.1. A bunch of loose threads or cords bound at one end and hanging free at the other, used as an ornament on curtains or clothing, for example.
2. Something that resembles such an ornament, especially the pollen-bearing inflorescence of a corn plant.

Like I said, I was just trying to have some fun.

I didn't realize so many bikers were so deeply in touch with their feelings!

(that last line was a joke folks...chill!)
