Wolo Badboy 419 vs. Stebel Nautilus Compact Airhorn

My dilemma:
Background:
The Wolo Bad Boy model 419 dual tone airhorn claims 118 decibles. Is this as loud as the Stebel Nautilus Compact? I haven't read any reviews on this one.

The Stebel Nautilus Compact dual tone airhorn claims a whopping 138 decibles (I doubt it has this under real life road conditions). I read on another site that these didn't work out of the box and they don't last if they work, because they start to fall apart.

These are not the same product as I have read in places: marketed by different companies, and have different dB ratings.

Question:
They are similar in price, so which one is louder AND more durable for motorcycles (i.e. which will last and take the pounding on a motorcycle)?

Your experiences with either will be greatly appreciated, because I need one ASAP. These cagers on their cellphones around here need a wakeup call from a loud horn; close call twice in two days.

Thank you!

2006 Suzuki C50T. All OEM.

I can't say re: the vs. part

I have the Stebel, and have had it for 4 yrs. NO PROBLEMS...other than what any horn would do.... over winter storage in my garage (ie: sweating concrete floor) the first toot of the year, usually is kinda sick sounding, until all the condensation gets blown out. Then it's as loud as ever.

Be carefull of paying too much attention to the advertising. Here is more data from the product specs.

Product Features
  • Loud! 139dB at 4in, 115dB at 6ft.
How often is the cager going to be 4 inches from your horn?
And if he is, you got bigger problems than how loud your horn is

Had the Wolo awhile now, no problems. Works great. Even with these horns, you still have to lay on 'em since most of the cagers have the windows up and the cell phone planted in their ear anyway.

From what I've read, they are the same horn.

When I put the Stebel on the Redhead I added some silicone on the exterior seams. Only takes a few minutes and improves the water resistance.

stebel here... almost 5 years with the same one... worked out of the box & still works... i think the tone has mellowed over time, that or its matching the frequncy of the ringing in my ears...

Had the badboy on the old bike, and have the stebel on the new bike. imho, the stebel is much louder. From what I have seen, the badboy can be had for $37 at Harbor freight (plus any of the million coupons they send out). I think stebels are at least 20 bucks more.
