That's a cutaway from the S1000RR... Holy Sheet!

Here's a video from a ride I lead at the "BackRoads Magazine Fall Fiesta" out of Lancaster, PA... I'm in the Hi-Viz Yellow Jacket leading, video is from my friend (Bary Wolf on a R1200RT who was 4th in the pack.. all experienced riders. My friend, right behind me is a track racer.... This was on PA-125 (The "Dragon of PA") and some of it is on PA-339.

Start at about 4:40 or so....

Ihad an 1150GSA. You're just gonna love how smooth and substantial that bike is. Congrats.

My brother, known here as Chicken Bone, picked up a 2011 triple black GS with less than 1500 miles on the clock yesterday. He came up here to do it--here it is next to my '05. (I'm jealous of the ESA on it!)

Leo, CONGRATS! Welcome to the Family! GREAT, GREAT BIKE!

I've already said Congrats to ChickenBone since the day I knew he was getting it...a week or two ago. So I guess I don't have to do it again! (Thanks Bryon for checking it out for the Bro.. Love the Triple Black.. The rims are sweet!)

Got my RT back from its 6k service this week, and i'm happy to report that the engine feels and sounds fantastic. When I bought the bike last year, I didn't get 10 miles from the dealer when I turned around to bring it back for what i thought was a rattle somewhere on the bike...maybe in all that tupperware that I wasn't used to. The owner took it for a ride and didn't hear anything.

When I brought it back for the 600 mile service, I told them I thought it was a loose valve, and asked them to check it. They told me the engine was still breaking in, and to give it time to see if it subsides. At the 6k service, I told them the valve was still making noise. They did a valve adjustment as part of the service, and the sound is now gone.

The boxer just purrs now. Too bad my test ride after the service was a one-way ride to store it for the winter!

Nice, hate to hear what they charged you?

I do all the service myself now on my RT... all fluids are piece of cake, and doing the valves and throttle body sync is almost as easy... Changing the air filter was too easy. Even a complete brake flush and bleed was EZ PEAZY. Complete 6K type service might cost I dunno, $60 bux? $25 for Mobil 1 Syn at Walmart, (We use car type oil, dry clutch) MANN Oil filter and Air Filter from Beemer Boneyard.. I think about the same ($25 bux's or so for both) Final drive fluid, I used Valvoline Syntec 80/90 $9 or 10 bux...

I know I paid $400+ for the my 6K service and said never again (I had them use BMW synthetic and also do my final w/ BMW syn.. so it may have been a little pricey)
