I have different hobbies for different seasons. While I can haul guns on my bike, it's not really practical trying to tie an 8pt buck to the sissy bar.... My lowest was 45°.... I didn't care much for it. I see guys riding in the 20's and it makes my man parts not so manly.

I was riding down in the thirties and even upper twenties for a few years but I got caught in a snow storm a couple of years ago, rode through it and frost bit my right knee. Since then about as cold as I can tolerate is around 40. Much below that and my knee really starts hurting.

My record (mind you I am in Dallas, TX) is 24 degrees and rode an hour in that temp on the way to work. As long as there is no chance for ice or snow or raining in the morning, I will ride.

Got my first bike this winter. Not much riding weather here in western wa. this time of year. Have logged about 100 miles and 40 degrees is the warmest I have ever ridden in. Come on springtime !!

When I first stated riding I would ride in the 30's, then a few years ago I moved that to the 40's, now it's in the 50's for this simple reason: It's a toy, something to be enjoyed, there is just no joy in it for me if i'm freezing my a** off. I refuse to get heated gear for that reason.
But I will add that I hope the temperature starts to climb soon because with the way gas prices are going it's becoming more and more frustrating to fill up the 5.7 Ltr Hemi. I am looking forward to putting more mile on the bike this year just to save some coin. |

After doing a "COLDEST" search this thread seems to be fitting.
Forecast called for 40F this morning. It's 03:30 cst and there's ice on the ground @ 35F. Just can't find a reliable weather man or woman. Headed home from work in 2 hours. Been riding all week at 39-42F. I should be fine. Wearing plenty of layers, but no electric gear.
