Default Shipping time from Canada to California?

Does anyone know the approximate shipping time for a small package from Canada to California?

I bough something on eBay, and it was shipped on 3-29-06. I can mail pretty much anyhting across the states in just a few days...does crossing the border really slow things down that much?

Thanks for the info!
Ride safe!!

It just took nine days for me to get a set of floorboards from a guy in Utah.

I'm in Northern Ontario. I won an item on ebay on Nov 14/05 and put a money order to Seattle, Washington in the mail that same day. The seller received it on Dec 18/05. He sent the parcel to me that same day via USPS. I received my item on Jan. 05/06. Both the Canadian and US postal services blamed it on the Christmas rush

All the items that have been sent to me from the US, take anywhere from 8-20 days. I've seen brokerage firms tie up a parcel at the border for 4-6 days because of customs and then they charge you their brokerage fee for having inconvenienced you and then customs charges you duty on it to boot.

I've family in both Canadian Coasts and I'm smack dab in the middle of this vast country. Mail from my city to either coast takes anywhere from 6-9 days. East coast to west coast has taken up to 15 days. What a wonderful postal service we have huh?

Best way is to ask if the sender will mark it as a gift so that it doesn't go through all that nonsense.

Be patient...it will show up.
BTW....do you know what city it's coming from?
Good luck!!!

I can get 40,000 pounds of freight from here out west and into BC in three days or less. Took seven days to get a box of masking tape across the street. Small parcels are a crap shoot unless you want to lay out a fortune for guaranteed next day or second day air service. International transports require export papers which can be a pain, but most carriers are smart enough to fax copies to a broker to get through customs quicker. A small parcel break box(sorting terminal) is a mad house. Packages can be misplaced, mishandled or just set aside for a long time before someone even wonders why it's still there. But on the bright side about 98 percent moves without a hitch. To put that in perspective my company ships about 2200 small parcels a day UPS and Fed Ex and we're a small player in the industry.

Depends on how it was shipped and what part of Canada to what part of CA. You can get transit time averages from all the regular shippers UPS, Fed X & USPS. All of them have this info available on thier websites.
