i still have the bike on CL, updated price $2,500.00

here are the specs:

I am putting up for sale my beautiful 2004 Suzuki Volusia. It has been a great motorcycle, i've owned since 9500 miles and it has a little under 21,000 miles on it now. Modifications on the bike are as follows:

-Modified Stock Exhaust
-Cobra Sissy bar and Luggage Rack
-Light Bar
-Viking hard mount saddle bags
-Modified License Plate / Tail light and turn signals
-Kuryakyn run, turn stop light kit.
-K&N air filter
-Chrome Lowers
-Kuryakyn iso grips
-Chrome mini apes
-Stainless Braded Brake hose
-Chrome cable/brake dress up kit
-Blue Leds under fenders and tank
-Cobra Floor boards
-EBC Brake Pads
-Stebel Air Horn
-Newer Metzler 888 Tires (<2,000 miles on them)
-New Battery
-factory suzuki boulevard windshield

Thats all i can think of at the moment. All maintenance and work was done by myself.

The bike runs and shifts great and has been a great bike. I've ridden it through out PA, Ohio, Maryland, Wv, North Carolina, and Tennessee. I am in no hurry to sell this bike, so please dont bother with the low balling. Title in hand. fresh insepction, fresh oil change, new spark plugs, and fresh rear diff fluid change.

Repair manuals and some extra parts i have will go with the bike.

I'm in no hurry to sell, i know this is the worst time of the year to put a bike up for sale, but if it hangs around until spring so be it.

Good luck with the sell. I think you may have been priced a bit high for a fall sell on an older bike, but you'll probably do a lot better now that spring is here. She definitely looks good.

i've had a couple of ridiculous low ball offers, one decent offer that i never heard back from, and another offer that i flat out told the guy this is not the bike for you.

his question was, Is this bike capable of going over 110 mph?

this is the last bike you want to go 110 mph on lol

i just wanted to update this real quick. bike is ready to go to it's next owner. i have it for 3400 on CL, if a member on here is interested i'll let it go for what i need to get out of it $3,000.00. and it will come with whatever extra parts / pieces and manuals i have in the garage too.

i noticed my pics are not loading anymore, i'll fix that tomorrow.

I have recently purchased an 04 Volusia and joined this site. I'm hoping you are still involved in the site to read and comment on my question. (or some other member?)

That's a beauty you have there! With all that you've done to it, $3400 seems like a very fair deal...$3000?? A steal! Stick to your guns on this sale; someone who understands the great deal they are getting will find you! Good luck!

I noticed several c-50 upgrades on your bike, specifically the floorboards and large break pedal. I really like that look. Did the installation require modifications? Or did these items simply fit your Volusia without any difficulty.... that is, does c-50 stuff fit Volusia's? Except for fuel injection, they seem to have the same specifications.

Thanks in advance for any info!

The floorboards were on the bike when i purchased it, but they are cobras so i imagine if the same part number fits both the volusia and the boulevard then boulevard stuff should fit that as well. as for the brake pedal, i completely forgot that wasn't a volusia part. that is from a c-50, so yes that part is definitely interchangeable.

honest opinion request...is my price fair? this bike has been up for sale for almost a year now. i had no takers when i had the fairing and modified drive etc.. on it. ive taken it back to close to stock and lowered the price like $1500 from when it had all of the accessories and i have not had one person interested...

NADA retail value is $2200-2500 for central AL for an '04 model.
I bought a stock '06 C50T with 17k back in October 2014 for $2000 that had sat up for a year due to PO traveling with his job. Needed tires, basic maintenance and good cleaning.
Similar bikes in my area were priced around $3000-3800 so I searched around until I found the bike at the price I was willing to pay.
It's a buyers market and it seems the market is saturated with lots of used bikes to choose from. It's up to you to decide if you want to hang on to it and wait for the buyer that's willing to pay your asking price. It is a great looking bike but the market in your area is going to influence pricing.
Good luck with the sale.

Five years ago I paid $2000 for a 2001. I thought it was a good deal, so I bought it.

When the price is fair, people will jump on it.

What is the Nada?? If your over Nada you will not have much interest.

These bikes are tough on resale value. You've got a 12 year old bike there in very good condition but the market suggests a buyer can get a much newer bike, with fuel injection and possibly disc brakes all around ( albeit a different brand) for the same asking price you have. Sorry to say, but doesn't matter how much you've put into it, the market will be the judge of value. In this instance, if you were hoping to buy another bike, trade value would be a better deal.

You are absolutely correct, you will always get lowball offers. Check to see what other bikes like yours are selling for on average in your area. If you are close to or a little above it should sell without an issue.
Seems like everybody wants a 1500 or larger cruiser these days. I want a M109 but my wife wants me to get a Goldwing because she likes the passenger seat and she doesn't even ride with me.. Go figure..

Good luck with the sale!
