Text from my Craigslist ad (you can see pics with the CL link below). Listed for $3,950, but I will sell this bike to a forum member for $3,500. If you're thinking about a Wing, here's a great way to get into one for a great price. Don't let the mileage fool you, anybody that knows Wings knows that there is easily 200k plus in these engines. They are amazingly well designed and built. HUGE numbers of 70's and 80's Wings are still going strong -
From my ad: 88 Goldwing, Phantom Grey with some nice pinstriping, 109k miles, always garage kept. $3,950 obo, Clean TN title in hand. First of the 6 cylinder 1500cc Goldwings, runs like a top. All the bells and whistles, including reverse, cruise, am fm cassette, air suspension, trailer hitch (came on it, I don't tow with it), CB, intercom, tall windshield, newer Dunlop tires have about 3k miles on them. Over $3,000 in add ons. Carbs rebuilt, vacuum lines redone about 3 months ago. Newer high output alternator. Forks rebuilt with new Progressive springs installed. New front brake pads. Timing belts changed within the last year. Newer rear rotor. Close to $1,000 in all that work alone. All fluids changed, (clutch, brake, coolant), new plugs, air and other filter changes, less than 1,000 mi on recent oil change. VERY minor cosmetic damage due to a recent low speed laydown on the right side. Mirror chrome, engine / saddlebag guards scraped some, some minor plastics damage, that's about it (see last 4 pictures). Mirror folds back so it's fully intact, and plastics snapped back into place. Runs great, still riding it. NO joyrides. Need to have current motorcycle endorsement on your license and full price cash in my hand to test ride it. If not, I will be glad to demonstrate it. PM me with any questions, I'll be happy to answer all inquiries. I'd ride this bike anywhere. These really are great machines. I am located in Kodak TN, by Pigeon Forge / Gatlinburg. CL ad with pics: 1988 Goldwing $3950

So very true. Co worker of mine has an 07 GW that he turned 200k on it last month. His new goal is 300k.

Thanks. Just trying to be fair about it and get on with the next ride.... I've been very happy with it, as I was with my Vol. I'd still have that if I wasn't doing quite a bit of slab riding. Gotta say though, the Wing handles really well in the twisties too. Rode the Rattler over by Waynesville NC about a month after I got it and it handled great. I came away pleasantly surprised.
Just got to get used to different braking. The rear disc and left front disc are linked on the foot pedal. Right hand controls the right front rotor. Took all of about 5 minutes to dial in though. If anybody ever test rides a Wing for the first time, keep that in mind. That front brake slows it down, but won't really stop the bike very fast. I think this setup was designed by Honda to account for the cagers buying a Wing as their first bike.

There is a guy in New Zealand that has over 600k MILES, not km's, on his. Same engine. Amazing.

This would make a great bike for someone. I can back up Tom on his appraisal of the 1500 Gold Wing, I love mine and my wife would NOT allow me to sell it under any circumstances. We go everywhere on it, 2 up over night trips are a joy with this bike.
Good luck with your sale!!
