One of the things about being on a website is the fact we seldom ever meet to whom we always talk to. Being that this is a motorcycle website, we have the opportunity to ride our way to meet-up with those faceless members and put true life to that avatar we have conversed with so long... Well being in Texas, we don't have the luxury of the 50 mi ride to meet-up with 30 members but it is always nice to get the chance to meet-up with a member anyway...I had the chance to do so over the Thanksgiving Weekend. I had the Honor of meeting Ray and Gloria...Ray (rvcycleguy). I had only wished that I had had more time to have done some serious riding with them along with my wife...but as always, she had to work...yes, someone has to do it and Thank God it's not me!

I was a Pleasure...Ray and Gloria...

I agree, I'm always looking for opportunities to meet people from VR. Last summer I got to meet a good group at the Fraser CO gathering.

Heya Ray, it was good to meet you at Fraser. One of these days I'm going to head down to your neck of the woods as well.

Thanks for the shout out guys. Yes, Gloria and I both were glad we met up with Steve last Saturday. He showed us a great eclectic store with lots of MC apparel. I knew the moment we walked in that Gloria was coming out with new boots... Next time we hope Steve's new 2up rider will be along for the ride.

My ride to the Rockies this summer was exceptional and was highlighted by meeting and riding with a dozen VR members and their families. Fizgurd, I will be back in your area one day but this time with Gloria.

Thanks,

RV

I agree it's good to meet the folks for real. I got to meet several at the Bayou Classic Rally III awhile back, and met Ray becasue we ride with the same group here in the Houston area.

I met Steve a while back when we swapped some parts F2F, and I'll see him again this week-end, when I go over to his part of Texas to get my KruzDrive.

one of the best parts about making it to a rally..whichever..wherever..whenever...is putting a face to the name and leaving there having made a new friend...great family we have here. Of course..even better when I'm greeted with a banana...

btw...enjoy the holiday season all..don't forget what its all about..sharing the joy..not getting all stressed over bs we can't control.

Unforunately there's only ever been a handful of VR folks in Memphis, so the first time I went to the BrVR Rally, I think it took all of 30 secs (if that long) to feel like I was amongst lifelong friends. I've endured some adversity, both on and off the road, and VR peeps have always been there. A late board member sent me a set of stock pipes for only price of shipping...and I paid it forward. I've chipped in money/effort to FedEx a part to a mempber stranded on the road in the middle of nowhere. Definitely understand where you're coming from. This board has changed a lot in the 6+ yrs I've been a member but the basic core values of the members remains the same!
