Default Weekend Ride in the Mountains

I couldn't say that I ride a lot lately, except for my short daily ride to work. Even our summer trip was in our car. But on 6-7 Oct., we headed for Segura de la Sierra, a little town on a hill side, with a castle on top of it, and took a ride in the surrounding mountains, then back home on Sunday; 560 km in all.
On Saturday morning we went through the biggest random police checkpoint on the motorway i've seen in my whole life! They had everything: about 20 Leo, dogs, gunmen pointing at the vehicles, pandas across the road... Everything was allright with us, and the young officer almost apologized, but the sargent pointed at us and there we went. Driver's licence and vehicule title, and off we went; but queing, getting down, checking, up again, 10-15 minutes... I was politely asked to stop my engine, step down, but no to take my full helmet off. I did cause I was hot anyway.
Here are some pics of the weekend ride, as usual. (sorry, no pics of the checkpoint)

Last stop before Segura de la Sierra. We were there at lunchtime.

Autumn leaves. This is the window in front of my windshield in previous pic.

When we got to the bike after lunch for a short ride, all this people were sitting on the hill side, at the end of the street, ready for...

... a bullfight! This is the most unusual bullring you can imagine, since it is rectangular!

And this is what came later. My first bullfight ever. And I could only stand one of the bulls.

Awalk through the little town.

They had a fiesta there, and these musicians were playing all around the little town, wearing at least five different uniforms and t-shirts in two days, depending on the time of the day or night.

Opposite our nice appartement. Mind the traffic sign!

Saturday evening, by the road.

Country trail, Sunday morning.

Riding the trail was long and tiring, but we both enjoyed.

Good old backroad again! What a pain in the *****! (Literally meaning)

Sunday, luch time.

Evening shot.

Last pic, by sunset.

Jugama,
I always enjoy your trip posts and photos. After seeing them I always think that a tour to Spain would be so nice. My son has been there and always talks about going back on an exchange teaching program. If he does, maybe I'll go over there when he has vacation time and we can tour on a couple of rented motorcycles.

Once again, Thanks for sharing!

Fine! If you do so, let me know, we could have a couple of beers, and some tapas, or ride a few kms together.
