I finally got around to doing the Do-It-Yourself Lowers.... the cost was very reasonable for the parts but daaang it took me a long time! I always heard "I did it in 20 minutes" or something crazy like that.
It took me 3 full days but I'm happy with the results. I measured everything out with a ruler and used a hack saw to cut the 1 inch aluminum angle and aluminum flat bar and the Lexan. I used a hand drill and after marking the areas I needed to I made pilot holes first, then bored them out using various bits until I got to the size I needed to fit the 6M x 1.0 botls. It would have been much faster with a drill press but I could only use what I had on hand. The whole thing fits in very tight and there was no room for error. I had to file the alum angle so that it would clear the spotlight brackets I have on my turn signals. I used lock nuts on the lowers and the stock bolts on the National Cycle windshield brackets. I didn't take pics along they way like I ususally do but here is the finished product: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() In summer I have no complaints but in winter I hated the fact that the cold air would come under my tall "winter shield" and get run up my body!

Nice job, I did a set for my bike as well a couple years ago and to answer someone else's question, NO, they do not affect mileage, at least not noticeable.

Nicely done! I know what you mean...these projects people boast of doing in a short time always seem to take me 10 times longer. LOL
I also threw together a set for the C50 awhile back. They didn't turn out quite as nicely as yours, but certainly work. It was a fun project, too. Thanks for posting the images.
