Finished my trailer!

I started building a trailer at the end of summer, and I have finally finished. I got alot of ideas from here:

Looks good-but why such a long tongue?

From what I read, the reason for the long tongue is to reduce sway. I've read on 3 different websites that you want a ratio of 1.5 to 1 (length X width) or greater. The trailer on the "home-built motorcycle trailer" used a 2 to 1 ratio and said it pulled great. My dad has a standard harbor freight trailer, with a slightly less than 1.5 ratio, and when I pulled it, it pulled me abit. We will see how this one pulls when it finally starts to warm up.

I see you have all the essentials, a HF trailer, cartop carrier, case of Bud Lite, your set.

You'll love it, just don't fill it with dirt and try to stop it with a C50.

I'd load mine pretty heavy and even with my passenger I didn't know it was behind me (I WAS pulling it with a 1600 Kawasaki) but I knew it was behind me when it came to stop, just give yourself added distance.

Your absolutely right about tongue lenth, longer is better than shorter, yours looks plenty long.

A pic of my HF Tag-a-long trailer, still got it and just put a hitch on my Street Glide.

I've never experienced any "trailer wag" with this trailer.

When I want to read a really good Harley thread, I just turn to VolusiaRiders.com

Hmmmm.......no I did not.

I sold that hitch to a member here. We could contact him for measurements if you still want them.
