Hey guys
Just say a small harley on the road the other day. It didnt have a light bar but was still visible from a long way. The reason was that his turn signals were steady on. And on his tail he had red covers on his turn signals and led brake lights. That made 3 lights behind and 3 lights in the front. I think it was the work of a modulator or something. Is there a way to do that without installing any modulators? I dont want any repeated flashing or anything. Just that the signals should be on all the time. When I am indicating, they should blink otherwise they should be steady on. Is it possible to do that? |

Just thinking out loud really, but the only way I can think of to do that is two circuits. Power would go through a circuit without a flasher until you hit the indicator switch, then it would run through a circuit with a flasher when you did. Alternatively, you could install a second set of lights that were a different color than the blinkers next to them, kind of like what a car has.

Also just thinking out but couldn't you run a dual light (just like a car's running and flasher light, one bulb, two lights - Sylvania/Tail Light Bulb (7443) | AutoZone.com ) and then wire one with the headlamp and one to the turn signals? or would that fry something due to more power needed for the running lights? I actually suck at electrical stuff so probably a good idea no to take any advice from me....

Doesn't Kuryakin make something like this? I'll check my Kuryakin catalog when I get a moment. Pretty sure I saw something like that in it.

Factory rear signals on my 06 stay on full time. Bulbs are double element. Use a rear signal on front?? Not sure, but think you Would have to add a wire for the running light element, may be possible to use the current line for the blinker.

My 2006 stock bike does not have dual filament rear signals. I question your stock bike? The front is already a dual filament bulb. Running lights and turn signal. The rear is a single filament. It's the rear that is more complicated to operate as a running light and turn without a modulator type device.

The only way to do it would be to tap into the running light wire of the brake light for the wiring and then the fun part of changing out the socket of the rear signal lights to dual filament sockets. It is not impossible, time consuming but not impossible. What I would do would be to just buy somebodies front signal lights, mount them on the rear and then just tap a wire to the brake running light...but that's just me...
...Oh, I forgot to say that being able to read a wiring diagram also helps...
