I'm posting this for Ronnie because he doesn't post that much but wants everyone to know of his new sidecar.

It is not a new sidecar, it is a used one. Ronnie has been talking about getting one for a few years now and has finally pick one up at a great deal.

Day 1 of picking up the side car.

He just rolled into his garage when the mod bug hit. Then he put it up on stands and started taking it apart.

Looks great so far, but I'm concerned about the toll the heat is taking on poor Ronnie. This is what he looked like when he started the project:

and here he is mid-day:

That hot Nevada weather really dehydrates a person!?!?!?!?! :blackeye:

Just kidding...looks great Ronnie, can't wait to see the finished product, hopefully in person! Thanks for posting the pics Paul!

Nah. That first picture was just taken right after his morning coffee ... then a few hours later. He just needs a refill.:wayhappy:

I'm curious about how Ronnie is going to arrange the lighting on it.

My first chair was a Velorex 562, just like that one!

Has he found a subframe or is he going to fabricate it?

Very interesting project. Looking forward to seeing it progress.

Just wondering if the RH saddlebag will stay on the Vol or will it have to come off to allow room for the sidecar?

More pictures and some answers...

And it already has been skulled!

He does have the lights figured out but isn't done with how many lights. He is also thinking about a skull tail light for it. When he paints the top he wants to put a ghost skull on the top. He just got the frame squared and now he has to toe it in a inch or so. He wants to put a trunk in the rear. Build a firewall behind the seat so no one has access to the trunk. He just got a new windshield cut for the car and his bike. Still has lots of little things to do but he's moving along.

He is keeping the hardbags on both sides.

That's it for now.:shades:

I don't think it's been said or asked, but what is the intent of the sidecar? Is Claudine going to travel with Ronnie in it? Or the grandkids? Or is it just for extra storage and gear on long trips?

I was at a local park when I spotted a Suzuki V Strom 1000 with a side car. It had a blanket folded on the seat. I noticed what appeared to be dog hair on it. I really smiled.

A side hack may be my next rig (Jennis driving) when I get too old to ride; but then again the Ducati Diavel has been calling my name...wicked woman!!
