I agree, all cars use relays with their horns and that's what these are

Nice install BTW!
I would still recommend a relay because the horn is on a circuit with other items. Blow that fuse and you loose
15A SIGNAL fuse protects coolant temperature indicator light, turn signal indicator light, neutral indicator light, oil pressure indicator light, horn, brake. light/taillight, position light and turn signal light.

Hi Shawn, used your PDF, I remember using a relay because had to run to autozone twice to get parts It's interesting that some mods remind you of a certain place and time. My horns were put in at TOTT (that was a VR rally for those who don't know).

I know the relay is a must for larger louder horns. Kinda thought that without a compressor maybe a guy can get away without the relay.
New members might read this and figure the same, so I asked to be safe.

As usual from the VR, instant answers with good advice and instructions ta boot!

I installed these last year and just made a Y adapter and plugged in to thew regular horn wire without a relay. Have not had any problems with fuses blowing.

I used a horn from Harbor Fright and put it behind a Harley horn cover. No relay.

I've been thinking about going with this model. How loud is it Nfallon? Did you mount it under the right side cover or hanging off the side of the engine by the radiator?
