I thought they would be cheesy - and to some, they still are - but after installing two new LED strips under both sides of the bike frame, I gotta say - it looks pretty darn cool. I am much more visible at night, and at dusk, the blue strips really play well against the silver of my VL800. Very easy install also.
For those who were wondering, Autozone sells a "add-a-fuse/circuit" that piggybacks off one's existing circuit in the fusebox. All I had to do was cut into the fusebox cover to accomodate the odd placement of the new "add a fuse". Afterwards, I just zip tied and electrical taped until I felt good about it. This way, if the LEDs go bad quickly, or I change my mind, I didnt have to endure new relays and full wiring and the like... |

It looks pretty cool. Are you thinking of putting some under the tank too?
I kicked around this idea but I think it's illegal in California to have them lit up while riding so I probably won't bother.

I didnt even think about the legality of such a thing! Im in GA, so I hope there's no issue...I was going to run on these LEDs for awhile to see how hardy they are/aren't. If they hold up, I may go under the tank....the wires on these things are so small, you gotta wonder...I shrunk wrapped what I have on now, so...keepin digits crossed!

son of a -!! It is illegal in GA! Gonna have to switch to white or something.
O.C.G.A. § 40-8-90 (2007) basically stated that you cant have any lights that are blue unless you are either law enforcement or have some kind of special hobby license or something...apparently you cant even possess a light that could create this color....glad I did the add-a-fuse technique!
